Lock S-foils in Attack Position

The 4th day of the 5th Moon, an observed commemorative day for the Force “sensitive”, once again arrived amidst this troubling period. Known as Star Wars Day, the fandom celebrate the Saga itself as a whole, a bond that binds regardless of species, races or politics…

Earlier the year, I’d mentioned that I’ll post up a review of the other set I got together with LEGO Star Wars 75299 Trouble on Tatooine, but have since yet to actually write anything about it.

Well, since May the 4th is here, might as well to finally get this done with…

I’ve been wanting to acquire the iconic Starfighter of the Rebel Alliance for quite some time now. Amongst the all available variants released over the years, all of them (aside from a select few aimed at the much younger audience) are categorized as the higher range, more expensive sets.

At least until the arrival of LEGO Star Wars 75301 Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Starfighter.

Let Me See Your Identification

The newest wave of the ever popular LEGO Star Wars buildable figure series saw a return to the original trilogy, with the release of the might of the Empire’s finest soldiers.

Unveiled earlier this year, the news caught my eyes as soon as it entered the Holo-Net, as this is what I’ve waited for the past year ever since my acquisition of LEGO Star Wars 75111 Darth VaderLEGO Star Wars 75110 Luke Skywalker and LEGO Star Wars 75114 First Order Stormtrooper

I too possessed a couple of bootleg buildable figures (A second First Order Stormtrooper and a Captain Phasma) which I’ve yet to review on this blog, and perhaps I never will.

Anyway, a look at the box of both buildable figures show a substantial difference between the two: the LEGO Star Wars 75531 Stormtrooper Commander’s package is pretty much similar to the previous releases as it has only the figure itself, while the LEGO Star Wars 75532 Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike is roughly 3 times the width of the former, due to the inclusion of the vehicle…

TRAITOOOOOR!!!

Ever since my viewing of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens last Christmas, I’ve been eager to get my hands on wave 2 of the LEGO buildable figure sets, which I predict will be from the movie itself.

True to my speculation, wave 2 indeed is all about Episode VII, featuring the likes of Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn, Captain Phasma, Poe Dameron and the First Order Stormtrooper…

While wave 1 focus more on the first six movies and lack of any classic Stormtrooper aside from Commander Cody (A Clone Trooper), the First Order Stormtrooper set from wave 2 really caught my eyes.

The First Order Stormtrooper and the Captain Phasma set are identical aside from base colour and a pauldron to denote rank for the latter. Due to my preference of grunt units, I chose the former instead.

I am a Jedi, Like My Father Before Me

Previously during my post on LEGO Star Wars 5002948 C-3PO, I mentioned that I got him along with an extra.

Not really an extra per se as I had to pay for it too, but the combined price of both LEGO sets did allowed me to be eligible for free shipping. So why not? w

The LEGO Star Wars 75111 Darth Vader set I got some time before is a powerful Sith Lord. And he needed a challenge in the form of a Jedi opponent. Here’s where the LEGO Star Wars 75110 Luke Skywalker set comes in.

Hailed from the same line as Vader, the Buildable Figure allows you to assemble your Luke Skywalker piece by piece, and contains a number of joints and accessories for lots of posing fun.

The Day of the Force

Star Wars Day is celebrated worldwide annually on the 4th of May by avid fans of the Star Wars Saga.

For the uninitiated Padawans, “May the Fourth” sounds a lot like the catch phrase “May the Force Be with You!” from the movies… thus the celebrated date!
