Lock S-foils in Attack Position

The 4th day of the 5th Moon, an observed commemorative day for the Force “sensitive”, once again arrived amidst this troubling period. Known as Star Wars Day, the fandom celebrate the Saga itself as a whole, a bond that binds regardless of species, races or politics…

Earlier the year, I’d mentioned that I’ll post up a review of the other set I got together with LEGO Star Wars 75299 Trouble on Tatooine, but have since yet to actually write anything about it.

Well, since May the 4th is here, might as well to finally get this done with…

I’ve been wanting to acquire the iconic Starfighter of the Rebel Alliance for quite some time now. Amongst the all available variants released over the years, all of them (aside from a select few aimed at the much younger audience) are categorized as the higher range, more expensive sets.

At least until the arrival of LEGO Star Wars 75301 Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Starfighter.

I Guess Every Once in a While Both Suns Shine on a Womp Rat’s Tail

The Mandalorian Season 2 aired through Disney+ at the last quarter of the previous year, bringing back many familiar characters from the Clone Wars and the Original Trilogy to a stunning conclusion, at least until the next season.

In fact, the stinger at the last episode hinted at a new series featuring everyone’s favourite Mandalorian from the last century!

Anyways, today marks the annual levelling-up day of yours truly. Oh well, another year, another number to add upon the last…

Rewarding myself for my hard work surviving all these years, I’ve acquired a couple of new LEGO Star Wars sets earlier this month, one of them a playset from The Mandalorian.

This is The Way

The Mandalorian, a Disney+ series set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, was released to positive reception at the end of last year, garnering attention to itself thanks to its unique Spaghetti Western styled storytelling as well as introducing to us one of the cutest character since forever.

Released just earlier this month, this LEGO rendition of the series’s iconic gunship utilised by THE Mandalorian himself, quickly flew off retail shelves and rendered out of stock everywhere off and online all over the world.

Thanks to a local online distributor, I’ve managed to secure this wonderful set for myself much to my surprise, judging by its popularity amongst collectors.

Let Me See Your Identification

The newest wave of the ever popular LEGO Star Wars buildable figure series saw a return to the original trilogy, with the release of the might of the Empire’s finest soldiers.

Unveiled earlier this year, the news caught my eyes as soon as it entered the Holo-Net, as this is what I’ve waited for the past year ever since my acquisition of LEGO Star Wars 75111 Darth VaderLEGO Star Wars 75110 Luke Skywalker and LEGO Star Wars 75114 First Order Stormtrooper

I too possessed a couple of bootleg buildable figures (A second First Order Stormtrooper and a Captain Phasma) which I’ve yet to review on this blog, and perhaps I never will.

Anyway, a look at the box of both buildable figures show a substantial difference between the two: the LEGO Star Wars 75531 Stormtrooper Commander’s package is pretty much similar to the previous releases as it has only the figure itself, while the LEGO Star Wars 75532 Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike is roughly 3 times the width of the former, due to the inclusion of the vehicle…

TRAITOOOOOR!!!

Ever since my viewing of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens last Christmas, I’ve been eager to get my hands on wave 2 of the LEGO buildable figure sets, which I predict will be from the movie itself.

True to my speculation, wave 2 indeed is all about Episode VII, featuring the likes of Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn, Captain Phasma, Poe Dameron and the First Order Stormtrooper…

While wave 1 focus more on the first six movies and lack of any classic Stormtrooper aside from Commander Cody (A Clone Trooper), the First Order Stormtrooper set from wave 2 really caught my eyes.

The First Order Stormtrooper and the Captain Phasma set are identical aside from base colour and a pauldron to denote rank for the latter. Due to my preference of grunt units, I chose the former instead.
