A Day’s Visit at a Mini Fiesta
Due to heavy amount of stress and workloads IRL, I’ve totally forgotten about this year’s Comic Fiesta Mini. Thank goodness I have my trusty schedule on my Sumaho to remind me of that.
Held during last weekend, CFMini 2016 once again held within the halls of Straits Quay Convention Centre, the same venue as prior year.
Although only attending the first day of the event, I’ve managed to capture a moderate amount of happenings into my trusty lens, this year equipped with a flash gun to properly illuminate the otherwise dim venue.
Entrance & Ticketing
Even as I reached the destination, there were already a throng of about a couple of hundreds eager comrades in queue at the entrance, waiting for the starting sales of the ticket to the event.
As I’ve learned while going around the area for snap shots, some of them reached the place as early as 7am! Some TCGers even set up a small area for battles while in wait for the opening hours.
As soon as the gate opens, many comrades rushed towards the direction of the Coffytiam, the official sales booth of Comic Fiesta Mini, to grab themselves their favourite guests’ merchandise. Tickets for the main Comic Fiesta event later the year are also available here.
Various display and sales booths make up for a bulk of the hall space, with consumers-on-the-hunt storming the said booths for T-Shirts, figures, dakimakura and other various stuff.
There’s even a corner set up with console games for the enjoyment of visitors taking breaks during the day.
Talented artists selling their creations at the said area, filled with an assortment of illustrations, button badges and others.
During the day, Tama-chan served as Kanban musume for Le Fluffy Kitsune/Chapter 1, one of the tenants of the area.
At times, there were a lot of stuff happened on the main stage, which is located just across the Doujin area.
Band performances, cosplayer guests’ meet-and-greets and cosplay competition goes here.
With Tama-chan counted, there weren’t many dolls appear during the course of the event.
Only caught glimpses of a couple of Smart Dolls at the Culture Japan booth (Probably belongs to the booth staff) and met a fellow DD parent with his Nero in Kimono. I saw two more dolls (From other makers) but didn’t manage to take shots of them. :P
I also took her to a photo booth for some shots. The diamond bling bling background is kinda interesting I must say. XDc
Cosplayers are a norm in ACG events here on my island, CFMini 2016 is no exception.
While I did not actively pursue any cosplayers and hound them for shots, I did managed to capture a modest amount of them into my lens. :P
While the flash gun proved useful during the shootings, I did messed up a lot of the photos I took… ^^; Here are the remaining ones that I find… OKayish… Enjoy!
Perhaps it’s due to the stale atmosphere and the same stuff every year, I find myself no longer interested in attending Day 2 of the event. That and the fact that I’m way too tired and stressful nowadays…
Oh well, my next big event should only be AFA16@Singapore at the end of the year. Looking forward to the long vacation ahead!
