A Gathering of Collectors
Got an invitation to join a gathering of us local collectors of various anime/manga/game figures and toys, last weekend.
We were encouraged to bring along some of our collections for display, as this is also an exhibition event or sort, in a local mall close by.
Incidentally within the same day, there are other events going on around town, on the island and main land. The Bounenkai, a cosplayers event at another mall nearby; Danny Choo’s Culture Japan Night (Noon infact, just like the one 3 years back, same venue even… ^^;) at yet another venue, still within the island; And Day 2 of an ACG event called TAGCON in the main land.
As I’ve already promised and committed to turn out in the Anime Collectible & Games Penang event, I’d to abandon the idea of attending the rest, although my close friends did managed to visit them in my stead. XDc
Various figures of different shapes and sizes were displayed on the venue itself, me being a part of the contributors on site. =w=
The Gunpla section contains several of them Gundam plastic model kits, ranging from SD to HG to RG to MG to PG… www
A couple of really nice plastic model kit of main battle tanks.
A few scaled figures were on display as well.
For some reason all the figures present have high level of skin exposure. Just look at them curves! XDc
All μ’s members of from Love Live! in prize figure and Nendoroid form.
Insanely detailed and cool looking characters from the awesome tactical espionage action game, Metal Gear Solid series .
Speaking of it, I still haven’t finish the la
test instalment of the game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain… ^^;
The 1/6 scaled action figures come next, with various Iron-Man variants taking the spot light.
The mecha section consists of single entries from Transformers, Macross, Phantasy Star Online, Kancolle and Metal Gear Solid.
For some reason, a downed Yamcha is spotted in this area, by Danbo (Is kinda a mecha, I guess… XDc) no less.
With the recent release of The Force Awakens, the Star Wars craze lived on in this particular zone, with a lot of model kits and action figures, and a LEGO buildable figure too.
And the rest of the model kits, in particular of the Kotobukiya brand…
Some Dollfie Dreams were also sighted on site too.
Of course Tama-chan is there, along with her new imouto Ranka-chan. w
Albeit a couple of drama arose during the event (A boy tried to steal the exhibits, and his grandma didn’t even try to stop him), it was an enjoyable evening with those like-minded individuals.
Hoping we’ll have more gatherings like this next year so we could show-off our collections to one another. XDc
