The Arrival of the Unicorn

After two months worth of uneasy wait since its release date, I’ve finally procured my holy grail Perfect Grade Unicorn Gundam from a comrade supplier, albeit missing its L.E.D. set… D:

According to inside news, Bandai actually had an internal smuggling problem at their China factories, causing shortage of the L.E.D. units worldwide.

There’s also another rumour that Bandai rejected many shipments of the said L.E.D. units due to their lower than usual quality, thus had to freshly remade the units causing massive delays, much to the dismay of Gunpla fans.

Not sure if they are true, but my own L.E.D. set would definitely be delayed to at least May… >,<

Anyway, here’s a look at the packaging of the Perfect Grade…

Overall, the full stark white package of the Perfect Grade is nicely decorated with metallic-like printed illustration close shot of Unicorn Gundam itself. The other side of the box has its wordings in shiny, reflective, metallic hot-stamping.

On either sides of the package are printed details on both Modes of the Unicorn Gundam.

Unicorn Mode printed atop of the flap, which opens to its Destroy Mode during unpacking… XDc

A comparison of box sizes between the latest acquisition and my previous Perfect Grade from years back.

Astray Red Frame’s is a bit longer in length but thinner than the Unicorn’s…

An assortment of runners with huge individual parts in the trees…

Can’t wait to nip them off the connecting branches and snap them on together… XDc

As always, foil, metallic and seal decal stickers are included to spice up your Gunpla.

I find it jarring though that for a PG kit, Bandai failed to provide water-slide/scratch-on decals… which work wonders that they usually comes with MG kits…

Aside from them many runners, the package included a thick instruction manual along with several sheets of advert pamphlets, introducing the currently running Gundam Build Fighters Try and G no Reconguista anime, the Gundam UC artbook as well as the Full Armour add-on for the PG.

There’s also a small piece of printed paper with a QR code for an online Gunpla enquête…

I’m currently on a Lunar New Year break, which is about 10-day-long.

Gonna use the off time to start my construction of this Full Psycho-Frame Prototype Mobile Suit… ^_^

    • PO’d this from a friend of mine for RM 710. I ordered the kit together with the L.E.D. set for RM 960 but the set is delayed to May.

Don’t think you can get it from stores since it is currently outta stock everywhere.

Mine was delayed too since I was suppose to get it during December but only got it at February…
