Standing by the hill-side gazing over the Cool Culture of Otakuism!

Culture Japan Night after AFA14

AFA14 may have come and gone, but my pilgrimage continued.

The day after the end of the event, Danny Choo held an after-event gathering, this time at the Jurong East Regional Library. w

Preparations for Culture Japan Noonight were still ongoing when I reached the Library, after almost losing my direction when I headed towards the opposite direction when I reached the site’s nearest MRT station… orz

Luckily I’d asked for directions from a passer-by, or else I might not make it to the venue at all.

Danny kick-started this gathering by sharing with us his experience during the course of making the Smart Doll for the past year.

Apparently he had to move outta his 3-storey home in order to turn it into a production centre for the Smart Doll.

It wasn’t until a few months back before he found his current office that he and his wife Jay-san had to live in a small rented room near the production centre, which was only as large as the current platform in the Library he’s standing on… 0_0

Danny also took the opportunity to introduce his new right-hand man to us, Zhao AKA kodomut. :3c

Another angle of the area…

Love this shot very much. This IS a library after all… w

Elsewhere, several comrades busying themselves with their Nendoroids.

The Smart Dolls on display, all of them belongs to Danny’s staff, as far as I know…

Tama-chan and another doll were the only odd ones out in the gathering.

The rest of the dolls on display are Smart Dolls.

Some other Smart Dolls that were scattered over the venue.

I think most, if not all of them were acquired during AFA14 by the owners, judging by their default outfits…

Dolls weren’t the only ones on display, several comrades brought their own supply of Nendoroids to the gathering as well!

The speech ended after a trio of hours, and the gathering moved on to its intended purpose: the mingling and interactions between comrades.

Culture Japan Night basically encouraged us to get to know new comrades and socialise with them.

It wasn’t long before I had to bid farewell to Danny and Jay to return to my lodge.

Had a glimpse at the pixel Mario in the Library before I leave the site.

To finalise my pilgrimage report, we’ll have a look at my acquisitions during my trip in my next post! =w=
