More Halls of AFA13
One of the featured anime in the event is Love Live! School Idol Project, an anime similar to Idolm@ster.
For the uninitiated, the premise of the series is about nine girls trying to prevent the closure of their beloved school by becoming an amateur idol group amongst many competing rival groups, striving to promote their own school, in order to increase the student applications to the said school. w
The popularity of Love Live! proved to be overwhelming, as per most idol anime before it.
The booth has various standees and merchandise to attract the masses.
Such lovely chara designs of them girls. :3c
The booth itself was always packed with Love Livers, partly due to the autograph sessions of Honoka, Umi and Niko (Nitta Emi, Mimori Suzuko and Tokui Sora) that requires one to purchase Love Live! merchandise worth SGD 50 and above to receive a signature ticket (Limited to a certain numbers of them per day).
While these are not mine, a dedicated comrade bought and managed to secure all three autograph session tickets, one for each seiyuu’s signature. w
Furthermore, he’d already got their autographs from AFA Indonesia a few months back. XDc
Talk about obsession! さすがアイドルオタク!
The seiyuu also had their own chara on them standees autographed. w
One does not simply visit a Love Live! booth without the famous dogeza!
Elsewhere, we have HoriPro’s booth, an agency of which the artistes like May’n, Valerie, Tadokoro Azusa and Ohasi Ayaka affiliated with.
The AFA regular May’n left a personal message on the booth itself!
Ohashi “Hasshi” Ayaka and Tadokoro “Azuazu” Azusa on the mini stage at HoriPro booth. They are so diabetes-induced sweet, lovely and bubbly, especially Hasshi! >w<
In case you’re wondering, these two are relatively new seiyuu (Popularity wise), with the former being the voice behind Uno Uzume (Fantasista Doll) and the latter Pino Bloodstone (Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita).
Best of all, they were cosplaying as their own chara during their panel on the main stage (Too bad no photography is allowed during the panel), even singing their respective anime OP!
A Gunota comrade in my circle joined the Karaoke competition staged by HoriPro, and managed to get into the finals.
He also had his portrait drawn by Azuazu the next day on stage! Lucky him. XDc
Azuazu and Hasshi also performed a single karaoke session each during the said mini stage. w
A couple of live size Obitsu doll at the Japacon booth!
These dolls are for sale BTW.
Super deformed bling bling Iron-Man figures at the Kidslogic booth.
So many variations!
A local hobby store La Tendo and their own displays…
Megahouse and their scaled figures.
Colossus Titan from Shingeki no Kyoukin booth.
The deflated head reminds me heavily of that certain rubber ducky, quack quack all yellow and creepy. :P
Manga Festival booth, complete with an assortment of various manga walls for your reading enjoyment.
Spreading across the walls of the booth are posters and illustrations of various manga.
Even Microsoft have a booth in AFA. Looks like IE-tan got a new make-over!
Did you know that the new IE mascot, Aizawa Inori, is designed and animated (In collaboration with another) by the doujin circle Collateral Damage Studios (C.D.S.) from Singapore? :D
Puella Magi Madoka Magica makes a return in celebration of its newest movie with its own booth, though not as popular as Sword Art Online and Love Live! as far as I can see during the event…
Anime merchandise store giant Muse…
…and Proware took a large part of the floors, selling various otaku goods like Oppad (Oppai Mouse Pad), clear folders, posters and Dakimakura covers.
Got myself a couple of Daki body from Proware since they are much more affordable than if I acquire them in my country.
Sega have a presence in AFA too, promoting Sonic related stuff.
They probably may do better if they showcase Phantasy Star Online 2 instead. XDc
Sony music booth also have autograph sessions via merchandise purchasing as a prerequisite, thus the long lines as soon as the opening hour.
Starchild promoting several anime series including K, Copellion, Knights of Sidonia, Hoozuki no Reitesu and Noragami.
Asia Kawaii Way booth to promote all the pinks. Heard Alodia is one of them models but I failed to spot her around. :/
Aniplus HD booth.
And the rest of them booths taken partly outta boredom.
Never really inspect them closely XDc.
A resting area for cosplayer…
Have a Gigantic Kit Kat yo.
The main stage just next to the exhibition halls are always filled up with curious onlookers and enthusiast.
Most of them panels are photography prohibited, but managed to ninja’s a few shots during the Shingeki no Kyoujin panel… Ishikawa Yui of Mikasa Ackerman on stage!
Also had a rather exciting Kakumeiki Valvrave stage panel with this almost crazy fan girl screaming all her might every time L-11/L-elf appears on-screen as well as when Kimura Ryohei and Ousaka Ryouta speaks or addresses the crowd. w
Lastly, I got a shot in my lens of a fellow parent brought his DD musume around… w
Due to a lack of a doll display booth, many parents decided against bringing their musume to AFA due to the over-crowdedness. I am one of them that had Tama-chan stay at my lodge while I roamed the exhibition halls. ^^;
Next write-up will be the coverage of the doujin area, the Creator’s Hub.
