Detailing the CJC13
At long last, with as little as a couple of Moons away from the big day, Danny-san finally unveil the details of Culture Japan Convention, which will be the major ACG event in Penang for the first time ever!
Guess the guests who’ll be attending the convention? XDc
Here’s the list of those coming, which include cosplayers, illustrators and a seiyuu just to name a few…
The Seiyuu mentioned is Asakawa Yuu!
For the uninitiated, she is to Megurine Luka as what Fujita Saki is to Hatsune Miku, and is best known for her roles such as Rider of Fate/Stay Night fame, Aoyama Motoko of Love Hina series and Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!’s Kawakami Momoyo…
I wonder if there’s going to be an autograph session… I’m sure many comrades (*Achem* Shinn *Achem*) will flock to the event just for that… XDc
On the cosplayers side, we’ll have the fan-fave living Saber, Maridah-san all across the other side of the globe to step her feet on my island. Joining her is a local cosplayer Angie aka Ringo of MMK fame from AFA.
Hoping Maridah-san will come in her Arthuria get-up. Kinda wanna take a photo with her holding Tama-chan… XDc
Cutesy, kawaii, and moe illustrators Ikkyuu-sensei and DMYO -sensei will also show up to hold a panel sharing their illustration techniques, as well as providing tips and tricks to aspiring illustrators.
Given the naming of the event, of course the ex-Dancing Trooper turned member of the Japanese Creative Industries Internationalization Committee will be the host.
Tagging along with him is the Japanese band duo, known to work close with Danny-san for his Culture: Japan TV series’ OP and ED. ^_~
On the commercial side, various companies will join the event to promote and/or showcase their latest merchandise.
Currently the known companies include Good Smile Company (Duh since they are pretty much in good terms with Danny-san), Danny-san very own Mirai Kopitiam, Little Akiba (A local ACG importers/store) and VGB Network (Nothing really known about them, really… At least on my side ^^;).
Pretty much a staple in any events, various booths will come together to share the love of all things otaku. Expect doujins, figures and dolls on display and sales booths…
Unfortunately to some expecting to come empty-handed, the entry to event itself is not free of charge. Daily pass will cost you RM 20 per day while pre-order now for both days for only RM 35.
Besides the ticket itself you’ll also get a Comrade Lanyard, a Mirai Uchiwa and an event guide. For the PO (Only) you’ll be entered to a Grand Lucky Draw too!
There’ll be several contests which may net you a couple of tickets to Japan, including a cosplay competition, a cosplay photography competition and an art competition!
See you all there in a couple of Moons!
