Zaku to ha Chigau no da yo… Zaku to waaaa~!
Coming this month is the MG Gouf with version 2.0 frame, as well as the re-re-release 1/100 00-Raiser… >,<
While the box art for MG Gouf 2.0 is incredible, the kit’s base colour and overall design failed to impress me… Will probably wait until Gouf Custom 2.0 instead… XD
As for the designer’s colour version of 1/100 00-Raiser… Since I’ve already own the 1st release of 00 Gundam and 0-Raiser, along with the water slide decals, I’ll probably just order those extra parts for GN Sword III, the beam effects and the clear neck joints (For the light-up eyes gimmick, my own mod on the neck seems a little fragile…) from HLJ instead… I like its simplistic box art tho… Nice and elegant…

Designed as a high-performance replacement for the MS-06J Zaku II, the ground combat MS-07B Gouf became famous during the One Year War at the hands of ace Zeon pilot Ramba Ral. Though his personal Gouf was technically a prototype (possibly the YMS-07B), the production-model Gouf which came off the assembly line shortly thereafter was exactly identical. This fully-equipped production model B-type Gouf immediately followed a limited production run of A-type Goufs, which were produced without the built-in armaments of the standard B-types due to a parts shortage. However, the standard Gouf lived a short life itself, as production was quickly halted and the new ground combat MS-09 Dom went into production. Though the Gouf’s production run was short, units were deployed all across the world, including places such as Australia and the Gobi Desert.
The Gouf proved to be a nasty menace to the crew and mobile suit pilots stationed aboard the Federation assault carrier White Base. RX-78-2 Gundam pilot Amuro Ray was easily overwhelmed during his first encounter with Ramba Ral’s Gouf, and in post-battle analysis Amuro tried to simulate the Gouf as an improved F-type Zaku. Unfortunately for the White Base crew, the Gouf was above and beyond anything they had encountered at that point in the war. The Gouf was armed with a five-fingered machine gun for a left hand and a deadly tentacle-like “heat rod” on its right arm, which Ramba could use as either a superheated slicing weapon or a grappling weapon with an electric shock effect. The Gouf could also carry all of the standard Zaku hand armaments, notably the standard 120mm machine gun.

The GN-0000 00 Gundam is the successor unit to the GN-001 Gundam Exia. As Celestial Being’s first and only 4th Generation Mobile Suit, the “00” (pronounced Double-O) possesses many of the previous generations’ standard features, including the GN Drive and Trans-Am System, but also introduces the revolutionary “Twin Drive System”, a cutting-edge GN technology originally conceived by Aeolia Schenberg himself. The system uses two GN Drives with compatible GN particle production as the basis for the system’s operation, with their productive synergy, the amount of particles the two drives can produce is squared. Despite the combination of Exia’s and 0 Gundam’s GN Drives generating the highest synchronization rates, the system was still unable to cross the stabilization threshold of 80% until Setsuna took a chance and activated the Trans-Am System on the 00 which risked a system overload or even the unit’s self-destruction. The 00 was finally completed at Lagrange 3 when the GNR-010 0-Raiser was combined with the 00 to form the 00 Raiser. When it utilizes its Trans-Am System, it actually surpasses its theoretical limits, with the massive GN particle output acting as a catalyst for thought-based communication. The 00 Gundam also has a hidden onboard system, the Trans-AM BURST, which activates only when the pilot is a pure innovator and couples with the GN-Drives releases a large amount of pure GN Particles. Also, according to the SD 00 Raiser model kit, the 00 Raiser could transform into 2 alternate modes. The first was Bird Mode, Which was most likley a homage to the Wing Gundam and its Neo Bird Mode. The middle section of the 0-Raiser faced in the opposite direction on the 00’s back, the wings attatched to the 00 Gundan’s back in the opposite direction of the 0-Raiser, and the GN Shield II were back on the 00’s GN Drives. The second form was Fighter mode, where the wings of the 0-Raiser attatched to the underarms of the 00, Allowing it to use the wings for firing beams and possibly meele Combat. Neither of these modes were used in the series.
The 00’s weapons consists of seven different bladed weapons – an implied extension of the Exia’s Seven Sword System. The weapons consist of two GN-Sword IIs, two GN Beam Sabers/GN Beam Daggers, two combinable GN Shields that can function as katar-like weapons, and later a GN Sword III, an upgraded version of the GN Sword of Gundam Exia. It has 3 modes: A standard mode where the sword is simply folded up, Rifle mode, in which the sword is folded and a rifle extends from the front, and Sword mode, which has the sword fully extended and with another rifle mounted above the blade. The edge of the sword is made from the same material that was derived from the material inside the GN Condensers that was first used in the GN-0000/7S 00 Gundam Seven Swords’ GN Katars. However, the design has since been perfected, and as a result the cutting edge is so hot and sharp that even getting within several feet of the blade will cause a Mobile Suit’s armor to start melting.
