Wild Arms

After 7+ hours of assembly, spanning across 3 nights on and off, I’ve finally completed Red Frame’s arms…

The ever versatile hand unit, introduced 4 years ago during the launch of PG Strike… Moulded in a single connected piece, Bandai saved GunPla modelers, veterans and newcomers alike, the time of fixing all those miniature finger parts together, similar to the older PG kits…

As expected from a PG kit, the poseability of the fingers is unimaginable, but cursed with flaws as well… The ball joint between the fingers and the palm are quite fragile as two of my Red Frame’s fingers, one from each hand unit, fell out from their socket when I play around with the fingers… Luckily, the fingers can be slotted back to the sockets… whew…

There’s an extruded connector to hold onto the weaponries used by the Red Frame, much like those on recent Master Grade’s hand units.

The arm itself looks quite fortified when compared to its 1/100 version…

Due to the thickness of the inner frame (Armour, more like… >,<), the range of movements around the arm is quite limited. However, the design closely resembles that of the anatomy of a human’s arm, which clearly indicates that one’s arm cannot be bend 180 degrees in full…

True enough, Red Frame’s arm can only be bending at around 135 degrees at maximum…

The joint at the elbow allows a slight rotation of the forearm, as you can see in the quad of piccies above… The same gimmick is found on PG Strike as well…

The armour piece above the elbow slid apart as the arm is bending… Bandai always love to include these kinds of gimmicks on MGs and PGs… -_-

There’s a slight bending capability around the forearm as well… However, in true human anatomy, you cannot bend your forearm like that or it’ll hurt like hell… XD

The armour piece at the elbow can be slid outward to reveal a connecting socket for mounting Red Frame’s personal Tower Shield…

Wild arms in action… XD The first pose looks eerily like some old Russian propaganda poster of an arm holding the sickle… :P

And so the upper body is now completed…

My cousin commented that PG Red Frame really does look quite bulky (when compare to the 1/100 version), I was thinking of “The Incredible Red Hulk” when he said that… :D

Weekend draws near, moving on to the pelvis and hopefully the legs next…
