It’s July the 22nd, a day significant to the Love Livers as it is the birthday of Yazawa Niko, the buchou of Idol Research Club as well as a part of μ’s, a School Idol Unit.
Despite being one of the oldest of the unit, she looks the youngest amongst the 9-girl-ensemble and proud of it. XDc
To coincide and in celebration of the 25252 Day, Kahotan tweeted a fully painted prototype of Nendoroid version of her! ^~^
The popularity of Kantai Collection, or more commonly referred to its shortened term Kancolle, is going stronger and stronger.
Announcements and releases are flooding the world of figure collection as well as never-ending supplies of merchandise (Unlike the flow of Bauxite XDc)
After the overwhelming demand of Nendo/Figma Shimakaze a few months back, it’s no surprise that many more will come courtesy of GSC, including Nendo/Figma Akagi as well as this gem… :3c
Last year the world was caught in the blast of a new form of moe (Considering by many as the new Touhou Project…) that is the fleet management browser game called Kantai Collection, or Kancolle for short. =w=
Spanning across all types of mediums and forms, the various bishoujo rendition of World War era battleships charmed the likes of the otaku scene, driving its popularity to the max especially in recent Moons.
Merchandise of these lovely Kanmusu, most of them voiced by high-profile seiyuu veterans no less, are popping out like mushrooms ever since.
The recent announcements of a Kancolle anime which will be directed by the same person who did the Nanoha series, as well as a PlayStation Vita version of the game, certainly further accelerates its new-found fame, much to the delight of all Admirals (Or Teitoku aka T, affectionately referred to one another by the players of the game itself…).
「Welcome to the special End-of-Year and Happy New Year special programme!」
「この番組は、ユナモンご主人様とオタクールチャーの坂、ご覧のスポンサーの提供でお送りします… ^0^ 」
A random post while preparing myself for the upcoming Comic Fiesta 2013 this weekend, which is just T-minus 5 days left! w
Anyway, if you’ve followed the Bakemonogatari Second Season since last season, you’ll know about the bubbly middle-schooler being Shaft’d into a pale, radiant goddess/deity.
The recent arc from Koimonogatari even fully moe-fied her appearance with a dash of “Nadeko dayo~”! XDc
Why the mention of Sengoku Nadeko you ask?
Well, ever since she’d become Nadeko Snake-sama, I’ve silently cried out for a Nendo and/or Figma version of her. Unfortunately GSC have yet to hint, let alone announce the possibility of her figure creation. :/
Anime Festival Asia 2013 maybe over, but there’s still a social assembly left to attend on the day after… the usual Post AFA gathering of Culture Japan Night.
Held at the Kallang Theatre near the Stadium MRT station identical to last year, it was more of a Culture Japan Noon as the event started at roughly 1500 hours until 2000 hours of the day.
Found a gigantic fluffy tentacles curling around the ticket counter as soon as I approached the destination during Day 2.
So much d’awww-ness tho… :3c
Last weekend on the 17th and 18th, on my island one of the larger ACG event of the country happened.
Thanks to the
machination cooperation between Danny-san and Penang Global Tourism, many comrades and I from all over the surrounding region and even from overseas were fully enjoying ourselves in the wake of like-minded individuals and one another.
As what I always did during any past ACG events I’ve attended, I’ve paid the 6th floor of SQCC a visit the night before the actual opening day, the site where Culture Japan was held, as an early reconnaissance along with inspection to find out how I will approach the site.
Not to mention since I’m to display my Servant at one of them booths, I need to make sure the amount of items I needed to bring beforehand. :3c
Barely half a year since the last event, the 18th Wonderful Festival Summer once again was here to poison the minds of fellow figure collectors and otaku alike last Sunday!
Showcasing and announcing many of their upcoming releases and prototypes, it’s no wonder many respected makers strive to prove their worth by bombarding the event with loads and loads of eye-candies. w
A local ACG event was held during the last weekend, spanning across the 25th and 26th of May. ^_^
Dubbed the Moe-Party Cosplay Workshop III, it’s a small workshop event or something, at least according to my own pal for many years, Donny Choo-san!
Incidentally, it was he who had invited me over as I wasn’t aware of the event itself. The surprise when I was told of it dat time! 0_0
Anyway due to strict schedule I was only be able to attend Day 02 of the event, missing all the on-stage fun on Day 01…
A couple ‘o’ days have passed since the sweet foxy Saint Valentine’s Day…
It’s barely several days after the dawn of a new Lunar Year, but the 14th day of the 2nd moon is here once again!
Give Your Big Bro Chocolate Day Saint Valentine’s Day is the very day when girls of all ages prepare chocolates as a gift to their loved ones (Well at least in Japan, everywhere else it’s the guy’s responsibility to dish out hard earned monies on expensive romantic dinners. ^^;)!!
Falls on the same day, Day 1 of the Lunar New Year also marks the day when major and amateur figure creators from all over Japan gathered in one large specialised event to show cast all their latest and upcoming releases…
The 17th annual Wonderful Hobby Life For You!! aka the Wonder Festival 2012 Winter bares its fangs poisoning would-be collectors and comrades alike!
I don’t usually celebrate my Coming-to-Earth Day…
But when I do it’s not my plan at all since I always forgot about the day itself every year!
Ooooh~! Tadaima, Tama-chan!
When Danny-san announced the news some weeks earlier, it was an incredible surprise to all of us Islanders that he’s going to hold a CJN on our island!
To be held in the St. Joseph’s Novitiate at the Gurney Paragon, Penang, the gathering will begin at a rather odd hour: 1300 – 1800 on a Saturday (Thus Culture Japan Noon instead of Culture Japan Night… XDc)… 0_0
For the uninitiated, St. Jo’s is a heritage building made anew via reconstruction, and is now a hub for community events with rotsa restaurants surrounding it…
Another year ends, and another new year takes its place!
Tama-chan and Kotama-chan, readying themselves by the balcony of my den, eagerly awaits the obligatory fireworks at the strike of 0000 in the mid night…
The calm before the
storm fireworks! ^_~
Just a few minutes left until the btoom! ^0^
Well at least for most of them public. Enthusiastic comrades will not let the joy die down so easily… XDc
Last weekend spanning across both days, a graduation exhibition for a local design studio was held within a
n abandoned local shopping mall in conjunction with the Lost Gospel Cosplay Club…
During the event entitled “The Teens”, a cosplay competition and many ACG shinanigans will be held… ^_^
As a guest exhibitor, I was invited to be part of the event by none other than my own pal for many years, Donny Choo-san!
To my surprise, he is part of the LGCC and a cosplayer in the event too! 0_0
Ever since the acquisition of the Moekana learning cards twin packs from AFAMY12 two moons ago, I’ve been pondering of a way to integrate them into my usual figure 4koma shenanigans…
Thus the rise of another 4koma sub series of Osaka! XDc
While pronounced as Moekana, the title of this new series is actually “Moe ka na…?”, meaning “Is (Was) it Moe (Cute)? :3c
A blend between my usual randomness with the Moekana learning cards, Moe ka na…? will expand the standard example given by the cards with lingo used by the Otaku culture, further improve the fun of learning new Hiragana especially to the comrades and fans of Japanese anime and manga.
She rose to such fame and popularity in these past years that she’d made many cameo appearances in various anime series and games. :3c
A Figma version of her was made some time ago, and now finally a cutesy rendition of herself in Nendo form… ^_~
