The popularity of Kantai Collection, or more commonly referred to its shortened term Kancolle, is going stronger and stronger.
Announcements and releases are flooding the world of figure collection as well as never-ending supplies of merchandise (Unlike the flow of Bauxite XDc)
After the overwhelming demand of Nendo/Figma Shimakaze a few months back, it’s no surprise that many more will come courtesy of GSC, including Nendo/Figma Akagi as well as this gem… :3c
Last year the world was caught in the blast of a new form of moe (Considering by many as the new Touhou Project…) that is the fleet management browser game called Kantai Collection, or Kancolle for short. =w=
Spanning across all types of mediums and forms, the various bishoujo rendition of World War era battleships charmed the likes of the otaku scene, driving its popularity to the max especially in recent Moons.
Merchandise of these lovely Kanmusu, most of them voiced by high-profile seiyuu veterans no less, are popping out like mushrooms ever since.
The recent announcements of a Kancolle anime which will be directed by the same person who did the Nanoha series, as well as a PlayStation Vita version of the game, certainly further accelerates its new-found fame, much to the delight of all Admirals (Or Teitoku aka T, affectionately referred to one another by the players of the game itself…).
It’s finally the time for what you’ve been waiting for: piccies of lovely and sexy cosplays I acquired from during my roaming hours in Comic Fiesta.
Have a relaxing Rilakkuma relaxing at the side of the hall and the lovely kitsunemimi Coffy, the mascot of Comic Fiesta, as an entrée for the post. XDc
Many comrades have referred to CF as Cosplay Fiesta nowadays due to it being more cosplayers than comics at all.
I must say I do agree with the sentiment: most doujin stuff I saw are of merchandise and artwork variety instead of manga/booklet. That and the halls are practically fully packed with cosplayers. =w=
Continuing from earlier post on my experience in Comic Fiesta 2013, this time let’s have a brief view on the wonderful girls and boys of the doll variety.
There are a number of them turning up during the event, many tagged along with their visiting parents.
Of course Tama-chan paid a visit to the halls too, although only for Day 01.
She stayed back to guard our hotel room for the next day due to severe fatigue.
Rose from slumber very early in the morning and taking a ride in our chartered bus, me and the rest of my trip mates were transported to our destination, effectively eliminating the disastrous experience I had the day before.
Even though there’s still some time away from the opening, there were already a gathering of human hordes in and around the building. www
I’ve managed to sneak into the halls before the actual opening hours. This is the only time my lens isn’t hindered by the crowds so I can take the time to line up my shots to a degree. :3c
You don’t expect me to go on for an Anime Festival Asia 2013 trip without any loot of my own, do you? w
Unlike earlier years, most of my acquisition this time around are mostly apparel and merchandise, along with a single tiny figure. :P
Got three T-Shirts in order to expand my library of anime related wardrobe, incidentally all of them are white in base. w
Two of them are from the doujin circle Tomodachi T-Shirts (As per the name of their circle, specialised in anime T-Shirts) while another one is from Culture Japan Booth. w
Anime Festival Asia 2013 maybe over, but there’s still a social assembly left to attend on the day after… the usual Post AFA gathering of Culture Japan Night.
Held at the Kallang Theatre near the Stadium MRT station identical to last year, it was more of a Culture Japan Noon as the event started at roughly 1500 hours until 2000 hours of the day.
One of the featured anime in the event is Love Live! School Idol Project, an anime similar to Idolm@ster.
For the uninitiated, the premise of the series is about nine girls trying to prevent the closure of their beloved school by becoming an amateur idol group amongst many competing rival groups, striving to promote their own school, in order to increase the student applications to the said school. w
Last weekend, I’ve made a trip towards Suntec Convention Centre to pay a visit to the annual Anime Festival Asia 2013!
It’s only been a year since my last visit to the place, but it seems that the usual route (From the City Hall MRT station to Suntec) has taken a new identity, underwent renovations while I am stuck on my island for the year.
Managed to briefly lost myself in the shopping mall labyrinths, good thing I’ve already researched the route the day before.
Oh well off to AFA we go!
Waking up very early in the morning excited (Thus having only a total of 5 hours sleep time), I’m going on
an adventure a journey to the city of the fishy lion for my annual pilgrimage to Anime Festival Asia 2013!
Barely even dawn, I’ve already hitched a ride towards my island’s only airstrip, to board the crimson steel bird that will take me towards the skies.
T-minus 5 days left until I board the iron bird to the south, heading to wards my annual pilgrimage destination for Anime Festival Asia 2013!
With the date of the event coming closer and closer in a few sleeps, the official finally released the floor plan, highlighting various exhibitors and their relative position within the halls of Suntec.
Found a gigantic fluffy tentacles curling around the ticket counter as soon as I approached the destination during Day 2.
So much d’awww-ness tho… :3c
Last weekend on the 17th and 18th, on my island one of the larger ACG event of the country happened.
Thanks to the
machination cooperation between Danny-san and Penang Global Tourism, many comrades and I from all over the surrounding region and even from overseas were fully enjoying ourselves in the wake of like-minded individuals and one another.
As what I always did during any past ACG events I’ve attended, I’ve paid the 6th floor of SQCC a visit the night before the actual opening day, the site where Culture Japan was held, as an early reconnaissance along with inspection to find out how I will approach the site.
Not to mention since I’m to display my Servant at one of them booths, I need to make sure the amount of items I needed to bring beforehand. :3c
In exactly a week’s time, one of the most anticipated ACG event on my island since Comic Fiesta Mini last weekend will finally happen!
As the time draws near, the official site is busying itself with many, many updates detailing the upcoming contents that will make their appearance in the event itself.
Barely half a year since the last event, the 18th Wonderful Festival Summer once again was here to poison the minds of fellow figure collectors and otaku alike last Sunday!
Showcasing and announcing many of their upcoming releases and prototypes, it’s no wonder many respected makers strive to prove their worth by bombarding the event with loads and loads of eye-candies. w
At long last, with as little as a couple of Moons away from the big day, Danny-san finally unveil the details of Culture Japan Convention, which will be the major ACG event in Penang for the first time ever!
Today is the 9th of the 3rd Moon, also known as 39 Day aka Miku Day! wwwww
For the uninitiated, learn more about the Day of Hatsune Miku over here.
In celebration of this wonderful occasion of Vocaloid appreciation, let’s have a short look at the recently arrived Figma Miku variation… XDc
Falls on the same day, Day 1 of the Lunar New Year also marks the day when major and amateur figure creators from all over Japan gathered in one large specialised event to show cast all their latest and upcoming releases…
The 17th annual Wonderful Hobby Life For You!! aka the Wonder Festival 2012 Winter bares its fangs poisoning would-be collectors and comrades alike!
Hatsune Miku has enjoyed much popularity over the years ever since her début as a virtual idol, taking up many positions such as being an official race queen for Good Smile Racing for the past few years.
While GSR has offered the public a chance to sponsor their favourite virtual idol in the GT races, it was only available to the Japanese for the past yesteryear.
Sponsors are usually given an assortment of limited Racing Miku merchandise for the year, especially the much sought after Figma and Nendoroid versions of the Racing Miku besides the usual straps, stickers, personal sponsorship cards and other stuffs…
Spotted at Good Smile Company’s booth during AFAMY12, Racing Miku version 2012′s elegant futuristic design caught my eyes, grabbing my heart with her almost impish grin… And I told myself this: I definitely must get a Figma version of her!
T-minus 5 days left until the most exciting event in Malaysia this year (Besides Comic Fiesta)…!!
The stage events of AFAMY12 is finally revealed via a couple of teaser videos~ :3c
Expect rotsa new announcements of lovely Figma, Nendoroids and scaled figures at its own corner of display booths!!
Starting today April the 10th until the 1st of next Moon, comrades will be able to cast votes upon their favourite Nendoroid, Figma and Scaled Figures ever released by GSC in the past for a possible re-run/re-release, and nominate various charas in consideration for future releases! !
Whenever Mikatan-san of GSC fame produced a preview buroggu entry of any Nendo and/or figures, it is guaranteed that the pre-order for that particular item will be upped the next day…
Guess who’s showing up on Mikatan’s newest entry? ^_~
