This post will be dedicated towards the piccies of many cosplayers I’ve managed to shoot (with a camera XDc).
Them piccies are taken from both days so they are not arranged in any particular order. Some may contain Day 1 and some Day 2.
Not actually cosplay but I find these Phantasy Star Online 2 weapons very well made… These guys are members of the EXPFull Team on Ship 2!
If only a FOnewearl or a RAcaseal will pop up some where… :3c
As a follow-up to yesterday’s gallery of them various figure displays in Culture Japan Convention, I’ve mentioned about figures owners sharing the display booth with us doll owners of musume of any genre and sizes, no?
Furthermore, the space is titled Dolls and Figures Booth… XDc Therefore, let’s have a look at them lovelies gracing the event!
For stage events and commercial booths and shenanigans, please refer to the post-con report posted a couple of nights ago… :3c
While limited in numbers, dolls do take up a large portion of the display space (Usually 60 cm in height) when compared to your average scaled figures and such (Except Three-A’s Metal Gear REX. That behemoth is enormous!).
Found a gigantic fluffy tentacles curling around the ticket counter as soon as I approached the destination during Day 2.
So much d’awww-ness tho… :3c
Last weekend on the 17th and 18th, on my island one of the larger ACG event of the country happened.
Thanks to the
machination cooperation between Danny-san and Penang Global Tourism, many comrades and I from all over the surrounding region and even from overseas were fully enjoying ourselves in the wake of like-minded individuals and one another.
As what I always did during any past ACG events I’ve attended, I’ve paid the 6th floor of SQCC a visit the night before the actual opening day, the site where Culture Japan was held, as an early reconnaissance along with inspection to find out how I will approach the site.
Not to mention since I’m to display my Servant at one of them booths, I need to make sure the amount of items I needed to bring beforehand. :3c
In exactly a week’s time, one of the most anticipated ACG event on my island since Comic Fiesta Mini last weekend will finally happen!
As the time draws near, the official site is busying itself with many, many updates detailing the upcoming contents that will make their appearance in the event itself.
At long last, with as little as a couple of Moons away from the big day, Danny-san finally unveil the details of Culture Japan Convention, which will be the major ACG event in Penang for the first time ever!
Here’s the words of the man himself:
Well it seems the rumour is quite true, as yesternight the man himself kinda announced it on his tweet! :3c
When Danny-san announced the news some weeks earlier, it was an incredible surprise to all of us Islanders that he’s going to hold a CJN on our island!
To be held in the St. Joseph’s Novitiate at the Gurney Paragon, Penang, the gathering will begin at a rather odd hour: 1300 – 1800 on a Saturday (Thus Culture Japan Noon instead of Culture Japan Night… XDc)… 0_0
For the uninitiated, St. Jo’s is a heritage building made anew via reconstruction, and is now a hub for community events with rotsa restaurants surrounding it…
Lots, booties, treasures! What event ends without any wallet-killing? XDc
Like many AFA before it, AFA12 too drained my in-store credits to its core… orz
Ever since I’ve got myself the Moekana cards back during AFAMY12, I’ve wanted to get one of those deck holders every Card Battlers been carrying around… Luckily a certain Uncle got them in stock at discounted price at his Kopitiam in the halls!
Got a couple of them, one for the Moekana and the other for holding the meishi I’ve collected… XDc
The holders come with a trio of extra Moekana card too along with a lovely paper bag!
Well at least for most of them public. Enthusiastic comrades will not let the joy die down so easily… XDc
Oh wait that’s not a cosplay but an itansha!
But then again taking 50 steps backwards it’s technically a motorcycle cosplaying so it counts! XDc
In memories of a certain Dollfie Dream… Not! XDc
Many thanks to Yukino-chan’s papa, Tama-chan was invited to one of the biggest gathering of all her kind she’d ever experienced.
Grander in ambition with moar hall spaces, AFA12 is no doubt the biggest event yet over the South East Asia, rivaling the like of Anime Expo of the Western countries in scale!
Once again, giants of the ACG industry along with various merchants come together to pour in their resources in making this event a success!
The journey to the South has begun! AFA12 here I come!
What a great start for a day light’s breaker bidding me farewell as I’m heading towards my local airstrip to catch a ride upon the steel bird…
This weekend, I’ll once again travel down South for my annual pilgrimage to the island of the Fishy Lion for AFA12!!
Tama-chan was so restless for the past few days hopping around the room in excitement while I’m busy packing up for our trip. XDc
Time to plan your attack route, fellow comrades! XDc
Once again, Danny Choo-san of Culture:Japan fame will organise a special after AFA gathering for like-minded comrades to interact and have fun with one another, just like how Tama-chan had fun during last year‘s AKB48 night and earlier mid year‘s Pavilion gathering… ^~^
Held in the Orchid Room of Kallang Theatre, not bad a choice for a venue this time as earlier CJNs are way too crowded at time…:3c
The shroud on the main stage events for the upcoming AFA12 has finally been shed…
As per AFA tradition, there will once again be a seiyuu special stage this time featuring Sphere members Tomatsu Haruka, Takagaki Ayahi, Toyosaki Aki and Kotobuki Minako!
Incidentally it is the second time Toyosaki Aki and Kotobuki Minako visited an AFA event, their first being during AFA09 as K-On! casts! XDc
It’s no surprise that the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise has earned its special place amongst the otaku community for the past two years, spawning many by-products like figures, manga and a couple of recap movies of the TV series currently screening all over Japan.
There’s also a hint that a second season is in the works after the 3rd original movie!
For the upcoming AFA12, the gorgeous musume-tachi of various InnovaDDoushi will once again grace the exhibition halls in display to curious and enthusiastic visitors!
On last count according to the organisers, there’ll be more than a hundred of confirmed attendance of them musume-tachi! 0_0
A brief update on the upcoming AFA12!
Less than a Moon until the big day itself and my annual trip to the South! XDc
Ever since the acquisition of the Moekana learning cards twin packs from AFAMY12 two moons ago, I’ve been pondering of a way to integrate them into my usual figure 4koma shenanigans…
Thus the rise of another 4koma sub series of Osaka! XDc
While pronounced as Moekana, the title of this new series is actually “Moe ka na…?”, meaning “Is (Was) it Moe (Cute)? :3c
A blend between my usual randomness with the Moekana learning cards, Moe ka na…? will expand the standard example given by the cards with lingo used by the Otaku culture, further improve the fun of learning new Hiragana especially to the comrades and fans of Japanese anime and manga.
