Ever since the acquisition of the Moekana learning cards twin packs from AFAMY12 two moons ago, I’ve been pondering of a way to integrate them into my usual figure 4koma shenanigans…
Thus the rise of another 4koma sub series of Osaka! XDc
While pronounced as Moekana, the title of this new series is actually “Moe ka na…?”, meaning “Is (Was) it Moe (Cute)? :3c
A blend between my usual randomness with the Moekana learning cards, Moe ka na…? will expand the standard example given by the cards with lingo used by the Otaku culture, further improve the fun of learning new Hiragana especially to the comrades and fans of Japanese anime and manga.
Hatsune Miku has enjoyed much popularity over the years ever since her début as a virtual idol, taking up many positions such as being an official race queen for Good Smile Racing for the past few years.
While GSR has offered the public a chance to sponsor their favourite virtual idol in the GT races, it was only available to the Japanese for the past yesteryear.
Sponsors are usually given an assortment of limited Racing Miku merchandise for the year, especially the much sought after Figma and Nendoroid versions of the Racing Miku besides the usual straps, stickers, personal sponsorship cards and other stuffs…
Spotted at Good Smile Company’s booth during AFAMY12, Racing Miku version 2012′s elegant futuristic design caught my eyes, grabbing my heart with her almost impish grin… And I told myself this: I definitely must get a Figma version of her!
A couple of weeks have passed since AFAMY12, I have yet to categorise my acquisitions from then due to so many happening in the period: Post AFA Syndrome aka minor fever x failure to readjust, slight depression, end of vacation leaves, social problems at work, laziness, etc. just to name a few…
Finally put aside all those 3rd world problems and gathered enough strength to properly unveil my loots (Still prefer the term acquisitions but otaku comrades have exclusively “trademarked” the term all around the globe referring to their purchases… ^^;)…
Now would you look at them booty, yohoho arrrrr matey! XDc
The Japanese Restaurant just in front of the venue, Tonkatsu, provided us with bottomless green tea beverages and a timed sushi buffet or sort during the course of the night…
Cosplay is an integral part of an ACG event, AFAMY12 being no exception. Unlike the failure of meself that was AFA11, I was lucky to have caught many of them raburi raburi and incredible cosplaying comrades into my lens this time around, framing them into digital piccies… XDc
Unlike the Layers in Singapore who were mostly gathered just outside the main hall of their AFA counterpart, most of the Layers here at AFAMY12 were found within the confines of the exhibition hall, allowing me to not-so-discreetly hunt them all around the place without having to leave the comfort (?) of my post…
Featured above, this raburi raburi Misaka Mikoto of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun fame is actually an employee under the KKnM x Little Akiba collab booth! The kawaii part is when I asked her to find a Misaka Mikoto Nenpuchi her booth’s selling, she mistook Musujime Awaki as one… ^o^;;;
Dojikko Mikoto is dojikko desu wa~! XDc
Albeit still slight in the growth of the community, Volks Dollfie Dream 1/3 dolls see constant increase of popularity over the past few years, a straight evidence from during AFAX when KKnM was kind enough to sponsor a display booth welcoming visiting musume of InnovaDDo to join in…
This was also the 1st début of Tama-chan in an ACG event! XDc
After a very exhausting arrival the day before, the time has come for me to truly enjoy this trip down South!
In the wee hours of the still morning covered in not-so-silent darkness, along with my buddies we rode the LRT towards our target of the day. Unfortunately the direct route to PWTC is still down since yesternite, thus with reluctance we retrace the alternate route we used and backtracked to the site…
It’s only been about 0800 hours when we’ve reached PWTC and we’ve already saw a throng of comrades lining up to get their ticket for the day…
Seems like everyone’s out to get a piece of Anime Festival Asia Malaysia 2012 themselves… XDc
A very early in the morning on the day before my first local pilgrimage, I headed towards the terminal on my island along with Tama-chan to catch a ride down South to the very site.
Nice breezy wind and clear weather ahead, I’m really lookin’ forward to enjoy my ride to Malaysia’s 1st ever Anime Festival Asia Malaysia 2012. Everything seems perfectly in order or so I thought…
Sticking to our original plan with minor changes of details, upon reaching Kuala Lumpur my buddies and I boarded the city’s Light Railway Transit train towards the station decided beforehand to drop off our excess baggage to allow freedom of movement the rest of the day…
Here comes the 1st jinx of the day: We got onto the wrong train that takes us to another line, veering off course from our intended destination. Twice. ^^;
Fortunately we were able to undo our mistake by alighting at the next station upon realisation and took a returning train back to a previous point where the train line starts to split.
Soon, very soon! It’s only a day left until AFAMY12!!
Taking a day off today, Goshujin-sama and Tama-chan are currently packing our stuffs and baggage as we’ll be leaving our beloved island first thing in tomorrow morning and head towards
Mud Estuary Kuala Lumpur for the mid-year event! X3c
T-minus 5 days left until the most exciting event in Malaysia this year (Besides Comic Fiesta)…!!
The stage events of AFAMY12 is finally revealed via a couple of teaser videos~ :3c
Once again, Danny Choo-san of Culture:Japan fame will organise a special after AFA gathering for like-minded comrades to interact and have fun with one another, just like how Tama-chan had fun during last year‘s AKB48 night… ^~^
Announced just a few hours earlier, the Culture Japan Night Malaysia is set to be held in Pavilion KL, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It is just some walk distance away from the nearest LRT station as well as the Puduraya Bus Terminal and KLCC… :3c
With less than a week’s left, the officials of AFAMY12 finally starting to unveil more and more news of the big day itself!
Looks like my early arrival at Kuala Lumpur will not be as boring as I have once thought… :3c
Expect rotsa new announcements of lovely Figma, Nendoroids and scaled figures at its own corner of display booths!!
The Trading Card Game giant Bushiroad will once again providing a workshop of theirs within the likes of AFAMY12!!
Looks like our beloved virtual diva will be providing a touch of hers to the soul of the event! XDc
It is now a confirmation that she’ll be in the event exclusively in her amazing cosplay drawn from her experiences and skills in fashion design!
With the upcoming AFAMY12 drawing closer and closer, more info have been teased and released seemingly at random, trying to hype up the excitement of would be visitors… 0_O
Looks like there will be a kyubi kitsune of League of Legends joining us at the event itself!
Looks like there’s a last-minute entry to the roster… 0_0
About several hours earlier, a press conference announcing various juicy details of the upcoming AFAMY12 was held at the venue itself, with many comrade attending to learn of the highlights and the guests of the most anticipated event of the year… >w<
I am honoured to be invited to attend the press conference itself, unfortunately tho I am nowhere near the venue as I live about 5 hours away from it… Not to mention I am bound at the time due to work… ^^;
Thanks for the invitation tho, Kenny of AFA!
Details on the event itself will be revealed by then…
Will AFA regulars Kaname, May’n and Aniki be here at AFAMY12? Which seiyuu(s) and/or artiste(s) will grace the festival? Any possibility of a holographic Hatsune Miku concert? What figure manufacturers will attend this event? Any Dollfie/BJD booth on display?
Doki doki suru! Stay tuned for more in a day’s time! XDc
Arrived earlier last week is a truck load full of them meishi I’ve ordered from last Moon…
… in preparation for AFAMY12 that will soon arrive in a little more than another Moon’s time!
Thank to the heads-up from the Cultur
al Ministe r of Japan just a few moments earlier, I am now made aware of the official announcement of this year’s most anticipated otaku event… >w<
It’s more like a teaser tho…
The only thing made known to us is the confirmation of the date of which they’ll be held on… Waidaminute “they”?
