Lock S-foils in Attack Position

The 4th day of the 5th Moon, an observed commemorative day for the Force “sensitive”, once again arrived amidst this troubling period. Known as Star Wars Day, the fandom celebrate the Saga itself as a whole, a bond that binds regardless of species, races or politics…

Earlier the year, I’d mentioned that I’ll post up a review of the other set I got together with LEGO Star Wars 75299 Trouble on Tatooine, but have since yet to actually write anything about it.

Well, since May the 4th is here, might as well to finally get this done with…

I’ve been wanting to acquire the iconic Starfighter of the Rebel Alliance for quite some time now. Amongst the all available variants released over the years, all of them (aside from a select few aimed at the much younger audience) are categorized as the higher range, more expensive sets.

At least until the arrival of LEGO Star Wars 75301 Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Starfighter.

I Guess Every Once in a While Both Suns Shine on a Womp Rat’s Tail

The Mandalorian Season 2 aired through Disney+ at the last quarter of the previous year, bringing back many familiar characters from the Clone Wars and the Original Trilogy to a stunning conclusion, at least until the next season.

In fact, the stinger at the last episode hinted at a new series featuring everyone’s favourite Mandalorian from the last century!

Anyways, today marks the annual levelling-up day of yours truly. Oh well, another year, another number to add upon the last…

Rewarding myself for my hard work surviving all these years, I’ve acquired a couple of new LEGO Star Wars sets earlier this month, one of them a playset from The Mandalorian.

This is The Way

The Mandalorian, a Disney+ series set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, was released to positive reception at the end of last year, garnering attention to itself thanks to its unique Spaghetti Western styled storytelling as well as introducing to us one of the cutest character since forever.

Released just earlier this month, this LEGO rendition of the series’s iconic gunship utilised by THE Mandalorian himself, quickly flew off retail shelves and rendered out of stock everywhere off and online all over the world.

Thanks to a local online distributor, I’ve managed to secure this wonderful set for myself much to my surprise, judging by its popularity amongst collectors.

Don’t Underestimate the Power of the 4th

It has been a couple of years since I last did a post for Star Wars Day, which falls on today, May the 4th…

May the Force be with You. Get it? :P

About half a year ago, I’ve commissioned a local Lightsaber Master Builder to upgrade my problematic iSaber V4 (Battery problem causing it to turn itself off every 5 minutes or so even though I’ve fully charged it…) to the more up-to-date Crystal Focus X, as well as going from the LED blade to the brighter and more powerful Neopixel blade.

Unfortunately, due to the current events all around the world, my Builder is unable to accumulate all the parts needed, thus needing to postpone the commission until he is able to.

Originally to coincide the Star Wars Day with the unveiling of my newest Lightsaber, it appears I won’t be able to do so now.

As a backup for this blog post, I’ve managed to finally acquire a special LEGO Star Wars polybag I’ve been wanting to procure since 2 years ago.

The Hardest Choices Require the Strongest Wills

It’s been almost a year since the 1st decade of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ended. While many of us keen fans of the genre still waiting for the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes movies that will helm the next, one can not help but to relive the wonderful memories of those iconic moments and colourful characters such as the Invincible Iron Man, as well as the nigh-invulnerable Titan Thanos…

While wanting to collect something out from the MCU in the form of LEGO sets, I’ve been on the fence for quite some while due to many of such sets were designed to be more suitable as play sets instead of actual collector’s item, unlike the more display-friendly LEGO Star Wars sets.

However, an impulse purchase during my visit to my local Toys ‘R’ Us changed that: while window shopping last weekend, I stumbled upon a couple of the gems right at the LEGO aisle, instinctively picked them up from the display shelf and headed towards the cashier.

I ignored my destiny once, I cannot do that again. I am sorry, my wallet little one.

And here we are, a couple of Marvel Avengers LEGO sets in my possession: 76140 Iron Man Mech and 76141 Thanos Mech.

These sets, while based upon the titular characters from the MCU, are not actually canon to the story itself, as there are no mech suits for the hero (Although the Hulk Buster can be considered as one, this mech suit is definitely not Hulk Buster) and the villain of the movie. ^^;
