Metal… Gear!?
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of their Metal Gear franchise, a sudden surge of figures and collector’s items have been released on after another, delighting fans of Tactical Espionage Action all over the planet.
After more than a decade, Metal Gear Solid’s final mecha boss, Metal Gear REX, will finally see its decent rendition in plamo form.
I’ve been waiting for this pain forever!
Since this is a plamo kit, assembly is required. Unlike the highly accurate coloured runners offered by Bandai’s Gunpla, Kotobukiya kits usually require extensive paintings and touch-ups, although sometimes certain details are printed upon the kit itself beforehand…
I wonder if those camouflage marks are printed or will required application via dry/wet transfer stickers…
The details on the plamo are asthonishing! However that means rotsa panel-lining works to be done… and it’s been so long since my last Gunpla/Plamo session! ^o^;
Rotsa articulated joints and gimmicks too, including the maintenance hatch complete with Liquid Snake in the pilot seat! 0_0
REX comes with its own display base, made to resemble that of the hangar in the game itself.
Several figures are included as well to re-enact the final moments of the climax scene in the game itself!
Metal Gear REX is slated to be released at the end of the year @ 8,190 yen per kit.
A quote from the game itself just for laughs: “What’s with these guys? It’s like one of my Japanese animes!” – Otacon

It’s a pain alright. And knowing kotobukiya, assembling it is gonna be a pain as well. Also there’s Kos-Mos v4 plamo coming also from kotobukiya.
