The Commencement of AFAMY12

After a very exhausting arrival the day before, the time has come for me to truly enjoy this trip down South!

In the wee hours of the still morning covered in not-so-silent darkness, along with my buddies we rode the LRT towards our target of the day. Unfortunately the direct route to PWTC is still down since yesternite, thus with reluctance we retrace the alternate route we used and backtracked to the site…

It’s only been about 0800 hours when we’ve reached PWTC and we’ve already saw a throng of comrades lining up to get their ticket for the day…

Seems like everyone’s out to get a piece of Anime Festival Asia Malaysia 2012 themselves… XDc

Arrived at the entrance… There are already a line formed by those with advance tickets there…

Since I got myself an Exhibitor pass, I can bypass the queue and head directly into the hall… ^^;

Surprisingly, my co-workers had already finished the setup of the booth, so there’s nothing much I can do to help now…

Still I’ll be needed to man the booth from time to time as well as crowd control, but I can move around at will so I took the chance to see the exhibition hall in its full glory, unlike the in-progress state yesternite…

At exactly 0900 hours, the door opens and AFAMY is officially started!

Zerg rushing commencing! The amount of crowd is incredible, and this persists for both days!

Just look at the incredible amount of comrades and commoners alike gathering at various corners of the hall busying themselves with booths and merchandise!

Anyways, let’s have a look at them displays and booths… Here’s from our raburi raburi Culture:Japan booth… ^_^

Just across our booth is Good Smile Company’s! Besides the awesome display of the coloured Ultimate Madokami figure, you’ll also get to watch their Super GT team live from Sepang!

Their Cheerful Japan! merchandise sold out almost immediately within the 1st opening hour, which is a strong feat even for GSC! XDc

Also: Nendoroid Suenaga Mirai! Dat 2nd face! XDc

The Bushiroad booth is full of Card Fight! Vanguard stuffs, with rotsa workshop and tournaments happening around…

Not much of a card player myself, but the sight is pretty amazing even to the likes of me…

I wonder what happened to Weiss Schwarz?

Tamashii Nations are full of action figures as usual, including Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Tokusatsu Sentai, Giant Robo, Doraemon, One Piece, Saint Seiya and even Gundam…

Oh we have Hikounin (Unofficial) Sentai Akiba Ranger too! No background explosion tho… :3c

Latendo had many of their merchandise on display to attract potential collectors…

However most of their wares are on the more marked-up side…

Muse is a regular AFA merchant, featuring rotsa random anime merchandise on sale. Their booth is also the largest one amongst all other exhibitors…

According to my accompanying buddies tho, the price of their wares are too on the more expensive side…

There’s also some sort of a non commercial Macross Fan Club that has a display booth to show off their collections of Valkyries, Macross and scaled figures…

At the Animax booth, one too many comrades queued up for a chance to try out their anime dubbing experience…

Occasional shouts and high-pitched screams can be heard from time to time… ^^;

One must not forget them doujin area too… Rotsa artistic comrades had their talent displayed and sold as merchandise… wwwww

Found le Moaning Lesque taichou derping around with Sasamura… ^^;

And finally, the only Stage Event I’d attended (Kinda missed Danny’s panel due to lost track ‘o’ time), which was the interview with Spiral Cats! Tasha and Miyuko came on stage with their BRS and Kuroneko costume respectively, Raburi raburi!

Miyuko seemed extremely nervous the whole time she’s on stage. XDc She’s been holding her mic close to her lips in the same position for the duration, you can even hear some shiver in her voice when she speaks… X3c Kawaii~

Kinda missed both of them strolling around the exhibition hall after the stage, which is a bummer since I couldn’t take a close-up shot of them both… ^^;

Heard they were even in Tenshi no Cafe the day after CJN! Double zannen since I’ve already back to town!

That ends AFAMY12. No seiyuu appearance is quite a disappointment but this is still a wonderful trip for me…Hopefully things gets more exciting on the next AFAMY!

Next up is Culture:Japan Night at Pavilion on the next day!
